Objectifs de l'enseignement
Define ceramics classes and know the main technics of shaping and sintering for these materials.

Present the different glasses and their methods of development according to their applications.
Programme détaillé
Ceramics :
Mixing - grinding.
Powder suspensions characteristics.
Shaping thechnologies : pressing, extrusion, injection, casting.
Sintering fondamentals, technics and aids.


Glasses : Elaboration and nature of the glasses: vitreous field the silica based glasses , rheology of the glass, the elements of addition, the special glasses. Shaping glasses. Deposits and surface treatments. -
Applications (TD ou TP)
Stability of slurries / rheology for a good shaping - Zeta potential


Densification study: effect of grain size, sintering technique, sintering atmosphere and sintering additives
Compétences acquises
Notions on the main techniques for shaping and sintering of ceramic powders

Concepts on the elaboration of glasses
